The Marcia Weekes show discusses the opportunity that faces Barbados in light of the oil investment (1:34:04). Subscribe and support the AFRICA BRIDGE TV NETWORK
Our Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley seems to have played a master move in the international game of positions. In her tireless, ever provoking words in support of climate change, she has made an about turn in a reverse direction to launch the island of Barbados into oil exploration. What a move. Wow.
WHERE WILL HER LEADERSHIP TAKE US, AND WILL IT BE ANOTHER MASTER MOVE?
From my position, she could potentially take our island of Barbados into a prosperous position for generations to come. As she searches for investors, does she go back with the people who do not look like us from the USA and Europe? Does she go with the people that kidnapped President Maduro of Venezuela? Does she entertain the people who have brought Cuba (and humanitarian doctors) further to its knees? Does she keep the island of Barbados under the thumb of the colonial masters? Right now we can barely get a visa, and we are treated badly as we say, “yes, sir,” “no, sir,” “whatever you say, sir,” like the Jamaican prime minister was called to obey by the Epstein class. Like we are begging.
OR DOES SHE MAKE THIS MOVE?
Does she make another master move like Prime Minister Dickon Mitchel of Grenada is exploring after they too discovered large oil reserves off their island? Mr. Mitchel decided to embrace our own brothers from Nigeria to explore the options with oil. The Prime Minister would go down in history like no other for unifying Barbados/Caribbean and Africa. Also, like Grenada is considering, we can utilize Russia for the technical development of the oil industry. The AES with President Ibrahim Thaore in Africa are already working closely with Russia and getting a much better deal.
OPPORTUNITY AWAITS US IF THE PRIME MINISTER TAKES THIS STEP.
To move, shift, or expand our market into Africa will take true leadership. This opportunity will be a master move of all moves, and it will mean we all have to come together as Caribbean people in this effort. Does Prime Minister Mia Mottley have what it takes to break from the colonial chains? We see.
